What is FaceFusion?
FaceFusion is the OSS face-swap framework that took over after Roop and DeepFaceLive: more accurate landmarks, more post-processors, and an actively maintained Gradio UI. Built on InsightFace + ONNX Runtime — runs CPU-only if you must, but a GPU makes it usable in real time.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Cleaner output than Roop / earlier OSS face-swap tools
- Live webcam mode for real-time swap
- Modular post-processing (face enhancer, expression restorer, frame upscaler)
- CPU fallback for low-spec users
Cons
- Politically charged tool — review your jurisdiction's law before publishing
- Quality on heavy motion / occlusion still lags commercial offerings
